Ingredients

1.5 oz

Gray Whale Gin

or other gin of choice
1 oz

Cocchi Vermouth di Torino

or other sweet vermouth
0.5 oz

Campari
2 dashes

Bittercube Jamaican #1 Bitters

or other orange bitters

Instructions

Combine all ingredients in a mixing glass with ice. Stir until well-chilled and properly diluted. Meanwhile, place ice in a rocks glass and express an orange twist over the glass to release its oils, then drop it in. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass.

A gin-forward riff on the classic Negroni with unorthodox ratios, created by JR Mocanu at Public Parking in Madison, Wisconsin as a tribute to his mother—a self-described picky drinker who now can't get enough of it. Orange bitters add a bright citrus lift to the familiar bitter-sweet framework.
