Ingredients

  • 1.5 oz
    The Botanist Gin

    Blackberry-infused; steep fresh or frozen blackberries in gin for 24–48 hours, then strain

  • 0.75 oz
    Lemon Juice

    freshly squeezed

  • 0.75 oz
    Herbed Cinnamon Syrup

    Combine 2 cups sugar, 1 cup water, 1 cinnamon stick, and 1 tbsp herbes de Provence in a saucepan; bring to a boil, simmer until sugar dissolves, cool, strain, and bottle

  • 0.5 oz
    Suze
  • 0.5 oz
    Dolin Dry
  • 1 whole
    Egg White

Instructions

1. Combine all ingredients in a cocktail shaker without ice and dry shake vigorously for 30 seconds to emulsify the egg white.
2. Add ice and shake vigorously for another 30 seconds.
3. Double-strain through a fine-mesh strainer into a chilled coupe glass.

Created by Aaron Defeo at Little Rituals in Downtown Phoenix, this European-style sour is a slightly herbal, floral cocktail combining blackberry-infused gin, Suze gentian liqueur, dry vermouth, fresh lemon, and a house herbed cinnamon syrup made with herbes de Provence and Ceylon cinnamon.
