Ingredients

  • 1 oz
    Rye
  • 1 oz
    Jamaican
  • 1 cube
    Dark Brown Sugar
  • 2 dashes
    Orange Bitters
  • 1 barspoon
    Soda Water
  • 0.25 oz
    Absinthe

    to rinse the glass

  • 1 twist
    Lemon

    expressed and placed on rim

Instructions

Soak a brown sugar cube with orange bitters in a chilled mixing glass. Add a barspoon of soda water and muddle the mixture into a smooth paste. Add the rye and Jamaican rum along with cracked ice and stir until well-chilled and diluted. Rinse a chilled rocks glass with absinthe, discarding the excess. Strain the cocktail into the prepared glass. Express a lemon twist over the surface and place it on the rim as garnish.
