Grapefruit Syrup

Ingredients

  • 2 cups
    Sugar
  • 4 whole
    Grapefruit

    peels only

  • 1 cup
    Water

Instructions

Combine white sugar and grapefruit peels in a container. Allow the mixture to macerate for 24 to 48 hours until the sugar absorbs the citrus oils. Add water and stir to create a syrupy consistency. The entire mixture, including the peels, can be used in cocktails.

A macerated grapefruit peel syrup that develops complex citrus oils over 1-2 days before being diluted to syrup consistency.
