Orange Cordial

Ingredients

  • 1 cup
    Vodka

    neutral base

  • 2.5 whole
    Orange

rind only, from 2–3 medium oranges

use rind only, discard after steeping

  • 0.25 cup
    Turbinado

    raw cane sugar

  • 0.25 oz
    Orange Flower Water

    orange blossom water

Instructions

Combine the vodka and orange rind in a large measuring cup or jar and allow to steep at room temperature until a pronounced orange flavor develops, approximately 6 hours. Discard the spent rind. Transfer the infused vodka to a small saucepan over low heat and stir in the raw cane sugar until fully dissolved — do not let the mixture reach a boil. Remove from heat and allow to cool completely. Once cooled, stir in the orange blossom water. Decant into a clean, airtight glass container and store until ready to use.

About

A light, versatile DIY orange cordial built on a neutral vodka base, brightened with fresh orange rind and delicate orange blossom water. Less viscous than a traditional liqueur, it substitutes seamlessly in classics like Margaritas, Sidecars, and Cosmos.
