Orgeat-Basil Syrup

Ingredients

  • 0.5 cup
    Pineapple
  • 0.25 cup
    Raw Almonds
  • 1 bunch
    Basil
  • 2.5 cups
    Water
  • 5 cups
    Simple Syrup

    granulated sugar, stirred to dissolve

Instructions

Spread pine nuts and almonds on a baking sheet and toast in a 350°F oven for about 8 minutes, stirring once halfway through, until golden. Transfer to a blender along with the basil leaves and water, then blend until smooth. Strain the mixture through a fine-mesh strainer or cheesecloth to remove solids. Combine the strained liquid with sugar and stir until fully dissolved.
