Pouring Ribbons' Grenadine

Shannon Tebay & Pouring Ribbons

Ingredients

  • 2 cups
    Sugar

    white sugar

  • 1.5 cups
    POM Wonderful 100% Pomegranate Juice

    or other 100% pomegranate juice

  • 0.5 cups
    Pomegranate Molasses
  • 15 drops
    Orange oil

Instructions

Combine the sugar, pomegranate juice, and pomegranate molasses in a high-powered blender. Blend until the sugar is fully dissolved, pausing to scrape down the sides as needed. Add the orange oil and blend briefly to incorporate. The mixture will appear light brown and opaque — let it settle undisturbed until it clarifies, then skim the foamy head from the surface before use. Store refrigerated for up to two weeks.

About

A no-cook house grenadine developed at Pouring Ribbons that achieves deep, concentrated flavor through pomegranate molasses rather than reduction. A touch of orange oil adds brightness to the rich, opaque syrup.
