Instructions

Combine rum, cognac, orgeat, lemon juice, and orange juice in a blender with 1 cup of crushed ice. Blend briefly until just combined, then pour into a Scorpion bowl or divide among individual tiki mugs. Add several large ice cubes to the bowl or mugs. For a flaming lime shell, invert a lime half and nestle it in the volcano of a Scorpion bowl or atop an individual drink. Carefully pour a small splash of overproof rum into the lime shell and ignite with a match or lighter. Be sure to extinguish before drinking. Garnish with freshly grated cinnamon, cinnamon sticks, grapefruit peel, orchids, and/or the flaming lime shell. Serve with straws.

About

A punchy, tropical tiki classic tracing its roots to Trader Vic's 1946 recipe, blending rum and cognac with orgeat, lemon, and orange juice into a communal bowl experience. The flaming lime shell garnish and freshly grated cinnamon make it as theatrical as it is delicious.
